From Sony’s vaunted ES Series, this is widely regarded among the best CD changers ever made. Sure, others may have gold plated connectors but the C801 has a copper plated chassis (even copper plated screws!) to improve grounding and reduce EMI.
With an exhaustive list of features, including 7 DSP modes with the ability to tweak them with the twist of front panel knobs. This is as close to mint as you will ever see. The display is flawless as are the simulated wood end panels. The remote appears to have never been used… still in the plastic bag with not a trace of batteries ever installed.
If you research this model, you will find the only consistent complaint to be that the belts have now worn out and are unobtainable. I was lucky enough to find perhaps the last set of belts existent and they are installed.
